Harriette Bond

bond harriette ( folder pic)Harriette Lee Peterson Bond was born to Harriette Holmes Peterson Walker and Roland Peterson on May 24, 1929, in New York City and died January 15, 2015, in Oklahoma City.

She was a graduate of Central High School in 1946. After graduation she entered Oklahoma College for Women. Subsequently, she joined the United States Women’s Army Corp and remained in government service until 1952. She was a member of All Souls Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild, as a Stephens minister, a tutor with Whiz Kids, and played in the hand bell choir.  Also, she was a member of the Central High School Alumni Association, had played in the hand bell choir at Messiah Lutheran Church, and was a lifetime member of Ladies Music Club and its Pianist Division.

She spent many years volunteering at Integris Hospital as well as other civic and community organizations.

She was married to Tommy Dallas Bond of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for 47 years and is survived by daughter, Karen O’Bannon and her husband Robert of Edmond, daughter Linda Bryan of Katy, Texas, son Steven Bond of Oklahoma City, and daughter Lisa Bond of Yokohama, Japan. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Andrew, Jeffrey, Patrick and Kelsey O’Bannon; Katie and Sarah Bryan, Bonnie and Jeff Houston, and Hannah and Rebeccah Bond; and one great granddaughter, Kendell Claire Houston.

A memorial service will be held at All Souls Episcopal Church on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Souls Episcopal Church.
