Harold Stockstill

1941-2024

Harold Ray Stockstill, 82, of Edmond, OK, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Treva Stockstill, and older brother William (Bill) Stockstill. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Hazel Stockstill (Mears); his two children, Chris Stockstill and wife Sherri of Edmond, OK; Taber Stockstill-Tornes and husband Kevin Tornes of Wilmington, NC; his three grandchildren, Kendal Stockstill, Grayson Stockstill and fiancé Sianna Gillespie, Howie Tornes; and great grandson Eastyn Stockstill.

Harold was born in Copan, KS on August 11, 1941. The family moved to Yukon, OK in 1951. He graduated from Yukon High School where he was the captain of the football team. Attended Oklahoma City University, served in the Air Force Reserves for 5 1/2 years, and worked in the commercial insurance industry for over 50 years. He was a life-long Sooner fan, an avid car fan, and a member of a local Porsche Club. Harold was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for the past 33 years and adored his weekly men’s bible study. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and grew to love tennis because of his wife. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with family so he could argue with all of them.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Jesus House.

Services for Harold will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2024, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Edmond, OK at 2:00 p.m.
