Glenda Lee Waggoner

Glenda Lee Waggoner

1942-2021

Glenda Lee Waggoner (West) was the firstborn child of Grace and Arnold West on February 22nd, 1942 in Bakersfield, California. She is survived by her husband, Donald Waggoner of Edmond, son and daughter-in-law, Devin and Jenifer Waggoner of Oklahoma City, brother, Stanford West of Okmulgee, sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Jim Mckee of Okmulgee, along with numerous adored nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her youngest brother, Chris West, of Okmulgee, and son, Michael, who died a short time after birth.

After moving to Oklahoma in 1955 Glenda finished grade school through high school, worked at a movie theater, married Don in 1960 and lovingly raised her son, Devin. Glenda was passionate about her family, friends, and all animals. For many years, she and Don bred, trained and showed German Shepherds. The two of them had dozens of Shepherds, as well as horses and cats.

Glenda was a gamer. Not the kind of gamer that we know of today. She loved board games, card games, and anything requiring group interaction. Glenda could have easily fallen under the category of “social butterfly”. She loved people, socializing, and never minded being the center of attention or the “belle of the ball”.

Glenda was a giver. For a short time in her golden years, Glenda was employed at Macy’s in lingerie where she enjoyed her employee discount and lavished gifts on her daughter-in-law and other family members. She always sought out opportunities to reach out to others.

For many years, she kept close contact to family and friends in California. She was an active member of the Church of Christ, and developed many good relationships. Glenda will forever be loved and greatly missed by family and friends.
