Gina Louise Haque, 57, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on April 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
A public viewing and formal visitation with family will be held Wednesday April 25, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond OK. The funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday April 26, 2018, at Matthews Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery.
Gina was born in Florida on April 8, 1961. She graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1979 and furthered her education an additional two years. She proudly served her country with the OKANG Air Force for several years starting in 1981.
Gina married the love of her life and best friend Dewan Haque on January 2, 1985; They were married 33 years.
She worked many years managing their family business while taking on her most beloved role as a mother and homemaker, though she was always more than that.
She enjoyed jewelry making, crafts, home decorations, cake decorating, fishing, gardening, being at the ocean, family gatherings at Eufaula Lake in Oklahoma, and family vacations to Padre Island and Galveston Texas. She was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything.
She loved community involvement, especially with her sister Cristina. Her natural talents benefitted Haven of Hope Animal Rescue during fundraising events and were recognized by the Piedmont Unsung Hero award. She donated many pieces of her beautiful handcrafted original jewelry for fundraisers.
She was preceded in death by her mother LaVella Faye McCoy-Shockley, and sister Alicia Ann Brazell. She is survived by her husband Dewan A. Haque, son Jamil Haque and his wife Jessica, daughter Kesha L. Haque and her fiancé Brian Secrest, and sisters Anita Ogle and her husband Cliff, Cristina Vierus and her husband Dan, Angela Hite, Jennifer Bell, and brother Joshua Shockley. Brother-in-law Baki Dewan and wife Nazma, sister-in-law Hazera Sakhawat and husband Khan- also many nephews (Brandon, Bonty, Ryan, Matthew, Ashton, Blake, Favian, Aayan), nieces (Shompa, Anna, Erica, Serena, Meranda), and cousins – too many to list.
Gina could always make you smile. Her unique jokes and sense of humor will be missed and remembered by everyone who knew her. Her patience and forgiveness knew no end.
Gina was such a giving person, she gave of her time and her talents, her friendship and love❤️ she was always willing to help out in anyway she could, she will be truly missed ?
I love you Gina!! I will miss our time together and fishing together!! I miss you my aunt my friend and my biggest supporter and my fishing bud! Love youuuu! ?
