Geraldine (Geri) Shrum, age 85, was born October 14, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Marie Romeo. Geraldine married Dwight Shrum Sr. on May 10, 1958, in Overland, Missouri.

Geraldine was a housewife in the early part of their marriage. After a co-worker and friend of Dwight Sr. passed away leaving his wife with no job skills to take care of their family, Dwight and Geri didn’t want that to happen to them, so they both decided that Geri should get a job skill. After Dwight retired from the Navy in July 1979, they moved to Table Rock Lake where Geraldine continued to work at local hospitals. Geraldine retired as a hospice nurse in Edmond, Oklahoma, touching the lives of very many patients, having helped them and their families with end-of-life care.

Geraldine was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmond and was also a member of the Edmond Elks Lodge. Geraldine was a very skilled seamstress; She loved to sew and make quilts for family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and playing dominos at Touchmark.
