1940-2013

George Osborne Jr. was born the second child of Dorothy (Lowery) Osborne and George Osborne Sr., on November 10, 1940, in Oklahoma City, OK. He passed from this life Monday, February 18, 2013. He was a proud graduate of Northeast High School. Being in a construction family, he chose to follow tradition by learning to roof and in 1963 started Osborne Roofing Co. He continued until his retirement in 2005… Along the way he married his wife of 50 years, Sharon (Ball) Osborne. Two children followed along with many fun family times. Knowing him added to your life. An example to note. He loved his family and was generous to a fault.

Survived by wife, son Brian Osborne, daughter Tracy Owens, grandchildren Summer Osborne and Drew Owens along with great grandchildren, Kirra and Gage. Siblings and spouses, Sister Carol Fink, Brothers, Terry Osborne and wife Ina Sue, Danny Osborne and wife Susan as well as a host of other family members… adding our chosen family members, Marty and Shelly Peterson, Keygan, Megan, and Sophia.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Friday February 22, 2013 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond.

Georgie, as all the kids in the old neighborhood his dad George built knew him, was just enough older that we looked at him as more of an adult than one of the kids. But, he was the fun, cool adult, always teasing and pulling our leg in some way. And he always had Sharon around. I just recall him in my youth as a neat guy, one I wanted to be like. I was friends with Danny. Were very good days growing up in that neighborhood in the country (back then). Was out of town the day of the service, but I would have liked to say hi to the family. And Danny, thanks for attending my dad’s service last summer. God bless you all.
