Geneva Louise Hancock
January 16, 1936 – September 25, 2021
Geneva Louise Hancock was born January 16, 1936 and went to be with her Heavenly Father September 25, 2021. Geneva grew up in Southwestern Oklahoma and was a proud Vinson Bulldog.
Geneva loved traveling the world and meeting new friends. She was President of Friendship Force for several years. Both Oklahoma and International Friendship Force were her passions.
Geneva started her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1959 and after 32 years there she retired in 1991. Geneva was president of the Engineers wives club and was a member of The Aliance, Inc. She was proud of her Chickasaw heritage and was very involved as a Chickasaw Nation Citizen. She was a very gifted artist. Her other passions were Mahjong, Jazzercise, yoga, and Sooner Football.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Hancock, father Jacob Loran Thompson Jr, mother Nellie Mae Thompson, daughter Marilyn Kay Thomas, brother Walter Loran Thompson, and two sisters Janie Smith and Barbara Matthews.
She is survived by three sisters Jean Pence and spouse Danny, Nancy Dillahunty, and JoAnn Bassel and spouse Larry. Two grandsons Bryan Thomas and Jacob Brandon Thomas and wife April. Three great great grandchildren Zachary Thomas, Larissa Thomas, and Payton Thomas. One great great great grandchild Easton Wayne Thomas and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The celebration of life for Geneva will be Friday October 15 at 2:00pm at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, Ok
