Frank Thomas, age 73 of Edmond, OK, passed away at his home on October 30, 2013. Frank was born in Pryor, Oklahoma on January 20, 1940 to Roy & Eliza Thomas. He graduated Pryor High School in 1958 and married his high school sweetheart Saundra Jean Pearson, in June of 1959.
He attended Oklahoma State University where he earned an Associate’s degree in Construction Technology in 1963. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in 1993, in Psychology and his Masters degree in Education in 1996 both at the University of Central Oklahoma. He obtained his LPC in 1998 and his Psychometrist Designation.
Frank was a Licensed Professional Counselor at Transitions, Inc. and at Specialized Counseling Services. He was a member of Faith Bible Church, a Clinical Member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and a member of Mensa. He taught Sunday school and was deeply involved at Epworth United Methodist Church, OKC. In order to serve the deaf congregation, he taught himself sign language. He was a representative for the American Plywood Association for 16 years before forming his own residential construction company, Original Concepts.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eliza, and his brother, Leroy Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Saundra; children, Brett & Debbie Thomas of Tulsa, OK; Steve & Amber Thomas of Nashville, TN and Angela J. & Christopher Reynolds of Edmond, OK; brother, Joseph Thomas of Ann Arbor, MI, sisters; Frances & J.E. Casey of Pryor OK and Lynda & Don Vickery of Pryor, OK. Seven Grandchildren, one Great Granddaughter and his beloved dog P.J.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Faith Bible Church, Edmond, OK with Interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 1st at Matthews Funeral Home.
