Frank Max Branson
1935-2016
Frank Max Branson was born on July 5, 1935 in Burns, Kansas to L.E. and Bernice Branson. He went to be with Our Heavenly Father on June 7, 2016. He married his best friend and love of his life, Sue Waugh, on December 6, 1952 in Wichita Kansas. They were married one day short of 53 years. One of Max’s favorite things to tell people was that his biggest accomplishment in life was raising 5 children, Sherri Lynn, Alan Clifford, Todd Max, Tammy Sue and Kelly John.
He went to work at a very young age, with the majority of his life being spent in the oilfield trucking business. His work ethic and dedication to his wife, children and grandchildren was evident to anyone who knew him. He had many sayings about life that he shared with his children, who now share those life lessons with their families. When health issues forced him to retire, he still spent his days visiting his friends still in the business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and wife Sue Branson. He is survived by his children Sherri Ward and husband Gary of Enid, OK, Alan Branson and wife Brenda of Moore, OK, Todd Branson and wife Teri of Edmond, OK, Tammy DeGarmo and husband Mark of Elk City, OK and Kelly Branson and wife Na of Oklahoma City, OK. He was blessed with 12 grandkids and 17 great-grandkids. And a special friend Glenna and Gary Hollis.
Visitation will be held for Thursday, June 9 from 4p.m. to 8p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 10 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with graveside to follow Saturday, June 10 at 1 p.m. at Lake Creek Cemetery in Edna, Kansas.
