Evelyn G. Dowling, 85, of Edmond, Okla. passed away peacefully June 26, 2016 in her home.

Born on November 24,1930, in Parsons, Kansas to George and Stamata Pappas; she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Harvey. Evelyn is survived by her brother, Tony Pappas, and sister, Patricia Callahan.

Evelyn graduated from Pittsburgh State University in 1951, where she met her husband William (Bill) Dowling. They were married in 1952 and were together 60 years until his passing in 2013. Evelyn's willful pioneering spirit led her to establish Dowling Realty, with Bill, in 1965. Evelyn ran her successful real-estate company during the growth of Edmond and was one of the first women realtors in the growing city.

Throughout her successful career she was recognized with various awards. She was presented by the National Association of Realtors the "Realtor Emeritus" for 40 years of service. She received a President's Appreciation Award from the Edmond Board of Realtors in 1997, and given a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 by the Edmond Board of Realtors.

She is survived by her children Patricia J Singleton (Harry) Oklahoma City, OK and Michael G Dowling (Kelly) The Woodlands, TX. Known as "Nana" to her grandchildren: Dr. Mark C Shreve (Sana) Detroit, MI, David M Shreve Oklahoma City, OK, Jennifer A Duran (Matt) Denver, CO, Courtney M Crawford (James) The Woodlands, TX and Annie J Dowling Houston, Texas. Great grandchildren: Hallie J Duran, Leo M Duran, and Max K Crawford.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel.
