1958-2018

Esther Ngozi Ozor sadly departed this life and went on to the next during the early morning of August 22, 2018 at the age of 60 years. The funeral will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Edmond, 1300 E. 33rd St., Edmond, OK 73013 with interment directly afterward at Gracelawn Cemetery.

Esther Ngozi Ozor was born June 14, 1958 in Okpochiri, Nigeria to Abraham and Margaret Udu and was the seventh of eight siblings. Some time after graduating from Holy Child Secondary School Sharon in Abakaliki, Nigeria she reluctantly left family, friends, and familiarity to come to America in 1982. Esther wedded Francis Chukwuma Ozor November 20, 1982 and later became the eternal mother to three children. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s in Health Education on May 8, 1987 and went on to work for the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond as a caretaker of children for well over a decade before returning back to school for nursing in the early aughts and worked for OU Edmond Medical Center. Esther was moral, hardworking, giving and forgiving to a fault. She was an angel in disguise and is now with them somewhere beyond the sky.

Esther is preceded in death by her father and mother, Abraham and Margaret Udu; two unnamed twin siblings; and two brothers, Peter and Emmanuel Udu.

She is survived by her children, Samuel, Patience and Mary Ozor; former husband, Francis Ozor; three sisters, Mary Ogah, Elizabeth, and Ogo Oke; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her immensely.
