1928-2016

Ellen Doris Bowman passed peacefully March 10, 2016. She was born December 10, 1928 in Clinton, OK to the late Claude and Lena Allison. In 1945 she married Raymond Bowman and moved to Midwest City, OK, where they raised two daughters, Cheryl and Julia, and a son, David. Ellen attended Rose State College and began a lifelong career as a licensed practical nurse at Bone & Joint Hospital and Saint Anthony Hospital in OKC. Upon her retirement in 1986 she enjoyed many years of traveling with her daughters to England, Italy, Alaska, Florida, and Mississippi. She lived in Edmond, Oklahoma for the last 16 years to be close to her granddaughters, Lauren and Allison, to enjoy watching them dance, and to tend to her gardening. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Montero, of Riegelsville, PA; her daughter, Julia Justine and her granddaughters, Lauren and Allison Justine of Arcadia, OK; and her son, David Bowman, his wife, Merle, and their son, Amir, of Everett, WA, and her brother Glenn Allison of New Braunfels, TX. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 15 ^th , at Matthews Funeral Home.
