Russell went to be with the Lord and his wife of 58 years, Gwendolyone Joy (Keele) Leazer on August 25, 2017. He was a Christian man, whose life reflected his strength and Christian values. Russell, along with his wife, Joy, left a rich legacy for his children to emulate. He was someone you could depend on to do what he said he would. If you needed help, he would be the first to volunteer. His was an humble spirit, a soft-spoken voice of reason, and never one to be quickly angered. His steadfast love of the Lord was the compass by which his life was directed. The Lord and doing His will always came first with Russell, and he never strayed from the high morals stressed by the Bible. His family was his sunshine, and he never tired of spending time with Joy, his children, their children, and their children’s children. He walked the talk, and those who knew him best considered him to be a man after God’s own heart. He left a wonderful example and will be deeply missed.

“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, ‘Write. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth. Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them.'” Revelation 14: 13
