Edward Lee Gerred, Sr., was born on March 5, 1944 to Myron Gerred and Joyce Hickman Gerred in St. Petersburgh Florida. He married his beautiful wife, Rebecca Ann Watters on April 10, 1964 and together they raised 6 children. He stepped into the arms of Jesus on October 29, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Ed was a retired welder who worked many years at G.M., who loved his life to the fullest. In 2013 he had a lung transplant and returned to work a year later in the automotive department at Walmart in Edmond, Oklahoma until he was diagnosed with stage 4 Large B Cell Lymphoma on October 30, 2019. He finished his treatment for the cancer on October 6, 2020 only to arrive home from his treatment in Texas to be diagnosed with COVID-19 on October 15, 2020. He fought a good fight, he finished the race and he kept the faith. He loved God with all his heart and many times reminded people that this world was not his home. Many people came to know Jesus Christ through his continued testimony.
Ed will always be remembered for his hugs, laughter and his love of Jesus and his family. Our miracle man was proceeded in death by his parents, 5 siblings and his son Jesse David Gerred and great grandson, Jamel Rashad Bowen, and survived by his precious wife, Rebecca Watters Gerred, son Juan Gerred and his wife Cynthia Ann Woodman Gerred, daughter, Joanna Gerred Glover and her husband, Jimmy Glover, Jr., daughter Christy Gerred McEntyre, son Edward Lee Gerred, Jr., and his wife, Heather Ramirez Gerred and daughter Cynthia Gerred Price, 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, 5 siblings, many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Vamoosa Cemetery in Konowa, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel.

My Uncle Eddie was one of the good guys. Always encouraging and funny all rolled into one. I was blessed to have him for family. I loved his different outlook and attitude about life and family. Sure am going to miss him.
