Dwayne M. Barber Dwayne M. Barber, 78, of Edmond, Okla., passed away December 19, 2012. He was born July 30, 1934 in Edmond; he was raised and lived most of his life in Edmond. He graduated from Edmond High School were he earned the nickname of “Pinky” and attended Central State College. He was a member of the National Guard and worked for American Fidelity for 35 years.

Dwayne enjoyed watching OU football, coaching softball, working in his yard, and spending time with his family on the 4th of July and Christmas. He was an active member of City Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leona and Ed Barber, brothers Jack and Bob and sister Emily (Tat) Stanila.

Dwayne is survived by his wife Hyland, sister Denise Barber and brother Yvonne; daughters Debbie Dunbar, Cindy Barber, Becky Shelby and husband Eddie, Terry Hyde, Karen Meza and husband Joe, Marky Benson and husband Brett, Carolyn Dempewolfe and husband Tony, and a special nephew, John Stanila and  wife Debbie. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by his companion dogs, Tiki and Angie.

A memorial service to celebrate Dwayne’s life will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at City Church, 6009 NW Expressway, west of McArthur, in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

    Sorry to hear of Dwayne’s passing. My deepest sympathy,Hug’s and love to Hyland,Becky,Cindy and the rest of the family. I last saw him at Al’s diner with Hyland having a good ole chickenfry steak and boy was he enjoying it. Again My deepest sympathy to you all, Marsha
