Douglas Raymond Hindes

1959 – 2025

Douglas Raymond Hindes left this world at his home in Oklahoma City on January 8th, 2025, at the age of 65. He was born in Dallas, Texas in 1959 as the third child and only son of Max Hindes and Monna Zoe Hindes joining a family with older sisters Max Anna and Janet. While Doug never had children of his own, he was a loving Uncle to a host of nieces and nephews including Travis, Micah, Taylor, Molly, Max, and Stratton.

Doug persevered through a challenging childhood sacrificing personally to help his family including forgoing playing tennis in school and instead got a job after losing his father when Doug was only 17. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City. Doug never gave up on his education despite the challenges early in life to earn his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from Texas A&M University – San Antonio as an adult.

Doug will always be remembered as being a character. He could light up a room and had a way to make others laugh. He was constantly looking for ways to help others even when he was often suffering through more than those that he was seeking to help.

He loved tennis, ping pong, cars, billiards, dogs (especially BullDogs), gardening, filling his crockpot to the brim for holidays, too many pies and going to breakfast with family and friends.

A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 17th at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers the family will be planting a tree in his honor in Edmond, OK.
