1927-2018
Dorotha Louise (Dot) Every was born in Valley Center, Kansas on September 19, 1927. She was the second of four children born to Vern and Della Knox. She died on June 2, 2018 at age 90.
She grew up on farms during the Depression. At age 13 she moved to Piedmont, Oklahoma with her family.
Dot was a military wife who loved living in different parts of the country. She was a homemaker and nurse with a talent and passion for flower gardening, reading, sewing and cross stitching.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John, her husband of 67 years; her two brothers, Bob and Don; her daughter, Shirley; and her grandson, Gavin.
She is survived by her brother, Bill; daughters, Linda Kessinger (Lee) and Janice Huskey (Dewey); sons, John (Sabrina) and Philip (Debbie); 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 AM on Wednesday, June 6 at Kansas Cemetery in Piedmont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Oklahoma Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Dot.
