Doris Jean Melton-Box

 

 

_MG_7116Doris Jean Box was born on August 15, 1934 to William Turner and Mary Caroline (Syler) Beal in Bentley, Oklahoma. Doris was the youngest of 8 children. She married Max V. Melton and together they had five children.

Doris lived much of her life in Yukon, Oklahoma. She worked for TG& Y as a department manager for several years. Doris married Ewell Dean Box and they moved to Lane, Oklahoma. For 8 years her and Dean travelled the United States in their fifth wheel, taking thousands of pictures of scenery. After traveling her and Dean settled in Yukon.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Alfred Beal, Andy Beal, Print Smith Beal, Easter Gammon, Martha Gammon, Louise Cook, spouses, Max V. Melton and Ewell Dean Box and son, Richard V. Melton.

Doris is survived by her sister, Inez Cowling, California, her children, Kathryn Suarez and husband Lou, Barbara Matthews and husband Randy, Donna Melton Perry and Joe Bob Melton, 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A private family burial of her ashes will be held at a later date in Yukon.
