Donna Kay Hackney

1945 – 2025

Donna Kay Hackney, 80, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on February 28, 1945, to Eldon and Margie Haggard, Donna was a proud graduate of the Original John Marshall High School. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist.

Donna wore many hats throughout her life—mother, grammy, sister, aunt, caregiver, and friend—but the roles she loved most were Mom, Grandma, and Aunt Donna. She is survived by her daughters Tifani Lee, Ava Pettinger, and Andi Nellius; her sister Cherie Harper; eight cherished grandchildren—Christopher Devlin, Joshua Devlin, Sean MacMillian, James Lee, Ryan Lee, Reise Nellius, Rylei Nellius, and Gia Nellius; and six adored great-grandchildren—Bella Nellius-Ortiz, Connor Devlin, Liam Devlin, Lotus Lee, Zhekia Neals, and Zhierre Neals. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents Eldon and Margie Haggard and brother, Robert “Bobby” Taylor.

Creative, witty, and full of life, Donna loved knitting, crocheting, and painting. She had a special fondness for British mysteries, both in books and on screen, and found joy in dancing, days at the beach, and indulging her sweet tooth with her favorite “junk food” treats. Her laughter and warm heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Amazing Grace was a song close to Donna’s heart, a reflection of the grace, resilience, and strength she carried throughout her life. Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family lives on in every heart she touched.
