Donald “Don” Leon Walters was born March 28th, 1943 in Prague, Oklahoma and departed this life on Tuesday, September 13th, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Ok.

Don, was the son of Charles Otto Walters and Bessie Lillie Walters. He grew up in Prague and married the love of his life Linda Kay Harris on November 22nd, 1963. They had a daughter Kelli and son Shane, they moved their family to Edmond in 1969 where he resided until his death. He has 4 grandchildren Tanner and Rilee Spence and Dawson and Davis Walters.

Don was a prominent home builder in Edmond for 40 years. He was well respected in the community and was a mentor to many. He was known for being kind hearted, generous, his love of animals and his sense of humor.

Survivors include: his wife Kay of Edmond, his daughter and son in law Kelli and Landon Spence, grandson Tanner and granddaughter Rilee. His son Shane Walters and 2 grandsons Dawson and Davis Walters. His sister Linda and brother in law Michael Lang, niece Staci Lockhart and nephew Trey Teape along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his father Charles Otto Walters and his mother Bessie Lillie Walters.

Viewing will be held Friday, September 16 at Matthews Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17. 2016 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

    I always thought a lot of both donny and kay ; i knew them from my days at prague high school. Donny and i played football together in prague while kay way the mascot reddevil. Donny and i were roommates in okc for a year after highschool. He was a decent standup man and i wish all the best to his family as i know they lost a great mentor in their life..god bless the family
