Dolores (Dodie) Claudia Stephenson peacefully passed away on May 31, 2023.  Dolores was born on November 24, 1930 to Wilson and Ruby Granstaff in Weleetka, OK.  Dolores spent her early years in Weleetka and graduated from Weleetka High School in 1947.  After graduation, Dodie spent time with her sister and brother-in-law, Lou Ann and Rip Hill living in Denver, Houston and Midwest City, OK.

Dodie met Billy (Bill) James Stephenson and they were married on August 30, 1953.  After Bill returned from service in Korea, they spent a year in Montgomery, AL.  Afterwards, they returned to Midwest City and lived there until 1974 when they moved to Edmond, OK.

Bill and Dodie raised two children, Mike and Jamie.  Dodie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She enjoyed time with family.  Holidays were always special when the entire family could meet and enjoy time together.  Dodie loved traveling.  She especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren on vacations.  Many fond memories were made during those trips.  Dodie was a wonderful cook and her home was inviting.  Dodie’s hobbies were ceramics, painting and sewing.

Dodie was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Edmond, OK and faithfully attended until her health prevented her.  She lived at Touchmark at Coffee Creek for many years where the staff faithfully cared for her. 

Dodie is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bill, her parents, her sister and brother-in-law.  She leaves behind her children: Michael and Vonne Stephenson and Jamie and Jack Wolff.   Grandchildren:  Katie Stephenson, Andrew and Christine Stephenson, Laura Stephenson, Joe Stephenson, Adam and Brittany Wolff, Joshua Wolff, Jackelyn and Joshua Bennett, Jennifer Wolff.  Great-grandchildren:  Emmanual Stephenson, Rowan Bennett, Luke Wolff.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023 at Matthews Funeral Home 601 S. Kelly Ave, Edmond. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Edmond First Baptist Church, 1300 E 33rd St. Edmond, with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery Edmond, OK.
