Dennis Leo Bruehl
1953 – 2024
Dennis Leo Bruehl of Edmond, OK passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Mar. 22, 2024. He was 70 years old. He was born in Norman, OK on Apr. 8, 1953 to Evelyn Kurz and Leo Bruehl. Causing mischief as a teen and eager to leave Norman, Dennis joined the Army and proudly served his country in Germany. He completed his high school education at the base’s Heidelberg High School and talked endlessly about the wonderful food he had while stationed there.
Maybe it was the Autobahn or just his nature, but Dennis loved classic cars and going fast. He was a speed demon, not just driving but walking too. Dennis had a large passion for media which he shared with his daughter. He had a huge collection of music, movies, and TV shows and always had to have the best sound system and largest TV. Dennis loved the outdoors and golfed and hiked extensively, but most importantly was obsessed with his lawn, mowing almost weekly. He was a very private and quiet person with hidden depths that only he knew. His proudest achievement was the birth of his daughter, Robin, who will miss him very much.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents, sister Cynthia “Cindi” Howard, nephew Brian Howard, and ex-spouse Caroline “Sue”. He is survived by his cat Cattington, his only child Robin Gardner, ex-spouse Betty “Sue” Hopper, brother Paul Bruehl and his wife Deborah “Debbie”, sister Patricia “Pat” Hames, brother in-law Phil Howard, nephews Doug, Curtis, and Michael, niece Krista, and all of their children. As part of his will he asked for no burial service or memorial, and in lieu of flowers for any donations please be made in his honor to the Salvation Army.
