Deneice “Dee” Barber

1928-2014

Barber, DeneiceDeneice “Dee” Barber was born to Edward and Leona Barber on June 3, 1928 in Edmond, Oklahoma. She left this earth on August 14, 2014, in the comfort of her home in Oklahoma City, OK. Dee had one sister, Emilie “Tat” Stanila and 3 brothers, Jack Barber, Bob Barber, and Dwayne Barber that passed before her. She has one living brother, Yvonne Barber and his wife Lucille of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dee is survived by nieces that she loved dearly, Debbie Dunbar, Cindy Barber and partner Ricky Kern, Becky Shelby and husband Eddie, Karen Meza and husband Joe, and Marky Benson and husband Brett. She is also survived by Warren Stanila and partner Rich Frick of Palm Springs, CA, and John Stanila and wife Debbie. Dee leaves behind other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. John Stanila was like a son to Dee and his son Brian Stanila was like a grandson to her.

Dee loved all kind of animals, the beauty in nature, was a perfectionist gardener, and had so many other gifts and was tremendously talented. She loved life, her friends were dear to her and her family precious, which included her four legged baby Shadow.

Dee wanted to be cremated and not have a service, however, her neighbors wanted to share memories and stories of her. So on Sunday, they gathered in her front yard, along with family, and read scripture, spoke of what she meant to them and what they learned from her, and released balloons in the celebration of her life. She was loved so deeply and will be missed more than words can express. For those that knew her, and would like a way to honor her, she would have loved for you to make a donation in her name to either the Oklahoma Humane Society or the ASPCA.
