Delores Marie Parsons, 73, of Edmond, OK passed away February 2, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK. Delores was born on May 9, 1939 in Fairfax, OK to Floyd and Jewell (Hasting) Oakes. She retired from Canyon Park Family Physicians as an office manager and also worked at Walgreens as a photo associate. She was a member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond. Delores loved doing her oil paintings and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Melvin Parsons, of the home; children, Marilyn Rodgers of Edmond, Mike Parsons of Edmond, and Jeff Parsons of Luther, OK; sister, Fern Anderson of Luther, OK; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Jewell Hageman; her father, Floyd Hazen Oakes; sisters, Louise Babcock, Carol Weber and Margaret Mustain.
Graveside services for Delores will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Canyon Park Physicians and staff of Edmond, Kidney Specialists of Central OK and staff, Parcway Rehabilitation of Oklahoma City, 10 E of Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City and Integris Hospice of Oklahoma City.
