To those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had these years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you have to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust, It’s only for awhile that we must part. So bless the memories within your heart. I won’t be far away, for life goes on, so if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near. –and if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear all of my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile, and “welcome home”

On November 1, 2013, after a long, hard fought battle Deborah Anne Dillberg has gone home. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents Vernon and Anna Stiles and Charles and Alta Coker. She is survived by her parents, Homer and Vivian Coker, two siblings, her loving husband of 38 years, Ray Dillberg, three children, two step children and nine grandchildren.

Debbie was born March 23, 1953 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, but lived the majority of her life in Oklahoma. In the late 60’s her family settled in Edmond where she attended and graduated from Edmond Memorial High School. In 1975 she married the love of her life at Penn Avenue Methodist Church and within the next four years started a family. In 1986 she packed up the family and moved from Oklahoma City back to Edmond, where she lived for the next 27.5 years.

In addition to raising her family she worked full time as President of the family owned business. In 2012 she took her love of cooking and opened her own bakery. Debbie always gave 110% in every aspect of her life, but no matter what her family always came first. Her smile always lit up the room and she never met a stranger. She was selfless and always put the needs of others ahead of her own, never asking for anything in return.

No matter how complicated things got, she never complained and always had a smile on her face. Whether it was a big family affair or just a small get together, she always made sure everything was perfect and a good time was had by all. Memorial service will be held on November 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Waterloo Road Church of Christ, located at 4404 E. Waterloo Road, Edmond, OK.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Debbie Dillberg to Hope Financial Assistance Fund, at OU Foundation, Stephens Cancer Center, P.O. Box 26901, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73126.

The past few years Debbie has been my best friend. I don’t think I ever met a more giving, caring person. She was always so concerned about everyone around her, and even through her journey with cancer I never heard her complain. We had so many good times with Debbie and Ray. Those memories will always be in my heart. I loved her so much and will always love her sweet family.

We heard this at another dear friends’ funeral…

    “What Cancer Cannot Do”

    Cancer is so limited…
    It cannot cripple love.
    It cannot shatter hope.
    It cannot corrode faith.
    It cannot eat away peace.
    It cannot destroy confidence.
    It cannot kill friendship.
    It cannot shut out memories.
    It cannot silence courage.
    It cannot reduce eternal life.
    It cannot quench the Spirit.

    To all who loved Debbie,

I never got to know my sister in-law Debbie well because we moved away from Oklahoma City before she and Bill’s brother Ray were married. That said, the times that we visited our families in OKC and did have opportunities to talk, we laughed and agreed on so many subjects. I DO know that Debbie was an awesome and beloved wife and helpmate to my husband’s brother Ray, and a wonderful mother to her children whom she loved so very much. Words cannot express how heartbroken I am for her family to have lost her too soon, but there is no question in my mind that her beautiful soul will live on and will be there to welcome home those whom she loves so much when –their times come.

Much love to all who loved sweet Debbie,

    Jan Casey Dillberg

We know that Debbie was a wonderful wife and Mother and to lose her at such a young age is very sad. I know people say that the “Good die young”. And Debbie is a very good example of that saying.
We know that losing Debbie is the hardest thing her family will ever have to do, but we also know that she raised her children very good by the way we have seen her daughter, Desiree lives her life. Our son is very blessed to have Desiree as his wife and we are very grateful for this.
We pray for Ray also, they were a very happy and blessed couple and we know that Debbie will always be in their hearts………

I have known Debbie for over 40 years. We went to high school and some college together and worked downtown together. Every time we got together was special and fun. I will miss her tremendously. She always thought of her family and friends first before herself. My thoughts, love and prayers go out to all her family. I consider myself so fortunate to have known her. Sincerely, Felicia Ann Schaefer

  10. I can remember Ray and Debbie at Lake Eufaula wondering around the shore line holding hands and smiling smiling smiling smiling… They were never one from another and loved each other deeply!!! It is so wonderful they found each other and shared such a wonderful life..
Love and hugs go out to Ray and all the children and grandchildren. There are no words to say how she brought joy to all she knew.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you as we have not had a chance to visit in many years.
    Hugs across the state.
