Darryl Vincent Cline

1941 – 2024

Darryl Vincent Cline passed away on May 21, 2024, at the age of 83.    Darryl was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 24, 1941, to Glenn and Mabel Cline.  Darryl graduated from Deer Creek High School and attended UCO.  He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and track in high school, and was in chorus/band and 4H club, also being Vice President of his Senior Class.   

Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, sister Glenda Billen and husband Harold, and brother Kenneth Cline.  He is survived by his wife Nancy Cline of Piedmont; son Cameron Cline and wife Jana of Edmond; daughter Michelle Hale and husband Brett of Edmond; daughter Sandy Totten of Piedmont; grandsons Dustin and Russell Cline of Edmond and Christopher Totten of Piedmont; Great-Grandchildren Trinity, Willow and Korbin; Sister Julia Wolfe and husband Charles; brother ML Cline and wife Jane of Edmond; Marvin Cline and wife Carol of Guthrie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Darryl retired from the Department of Human Services in 1993 working in Data Services and computer installation.   After retirement he hauled feed for Deer Creek Farm Store from Shawnee; worked as a tuxedo delivery driver from Kansas to Oklahoma, began ranching and started his own brush hogging business.  Darryl grew up as a farmer and was a cowboy. He loved breaking and riding horses, team roping, and frequently roped at the Edmond Roundup Arena and other arenas.  He enjoyed teaching how to ride and barrel race.  He loved dancing and the outdoors, fishing, and camping.  He was an OSU and Dallas Cowboy football fan. He was in the Army National Guard from June 26, 1959, until his honorable discharge on May 31, 1967, and was proud to serve his country.  Darryl loved his family and was very close to his siblings.  He was a hard worker and loved teaching how to work on cars, lawn mowers and all machinery.  He was loved and will be missed by all.

Public visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Services will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Interment is to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
