Danny Deen Williams Sr.

Danny Deen Williams, Sr.

1955 – 2024

Danny grew up in Fairfax, Oklahoma where his dad and stepmom were school teachers. Danny excelled at athletics in high school and was very proud of his athletic achievements. He spent his summers on his grandparents ranch in Ashland Oklahoma.

After high school he joined the Navy and was stationed in Jacksonville Florida on an aircraft carrier where he found his passion for medicine. He attended Central State University and joined Kappa Sigma fraternity where he later became chapter president. He attended PA school at Oklahoma University and started his career in medicine. Danny found his love in orthopedics and spent a lot of his career in operating rooms and on sidelines of high school football games. He spent a ladder half of his career working in occupational medicine at McBride, where he ran his own clinic in Edmond.

In 1978 Danny married Patricia Heimdale and settled down in Edmond Oklahoma where they had three children Danny jr (DJ), Wesley and Emily. As a father, Danny enjoyed being a little league coach and exposing his kids to his love of hunting in the outdoors.

Danny had a soft spot for his beloved pets who he considered members of the family. He raised and bred  labrador retrievers and was excellent at training them as bird dogs. His dog Magic especially, was his pride and joy and he was very proud of his hunting abilities.

Danny was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and his favorite places in the world were either his deer stand or a duck blind. He enjoyed fishing and loved to spend time out on the lake in his boat with his friends and family. He was a diehard OU fan and watched the Sooners any chance he could, no matter the sport.

Danny will always be remembered for his passion and spirit, and though he had a somewhat tough exterior people that knew him best knew that deep down he was kind and compassionate. He will be missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

I am very sad to hear about Danny’s passing. He was my Big Brother back in the days of our fraternity in college. Always helpful, smart and a good adviser. My respects to his family.

So sorry to hear about Danny’s passing. I worked with him many years. He would often help a patient / employee by giving money for gas or food. He was always available to lend a helping hand outside of work. He will be missed.

Just found out today about Danny’s passing. Enjoyed the opportunity to work with him at medical conferences and company events over the years. Danny was such a genuine person, who had a story for almost any occasion. He had a very no-nonsense approach to things, and was always willing to pitch-in and help. Such a rare trait in this age. He will be missed. Prayers of peace and comfort to his family.

I, too, just today heard of Danny’s passing and am greatly saddened. As has been said here by others, although Danny had a tough exterior, he had a tender and generous heart. Danny, may the Perpetual Light shine upon you and may your soul rest in peace. You will be truly missed.
