Dani Cable Kendrick
1951 – 2025
Dani Cable Kendrick, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born on January 31, 1951, in Odessa, Texas, Dani was the cherished daughter of William Sheridan Cable and Norma Ruth Cable, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Sheri Ruth Butler of Spring, Texas, and her brother, William Sheridan Cable of Framingham, Massachusetts.
Dani graduated from Stroud High School and pursued her passion for education at Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education in 1972.
On June 1, 1976, Dani married the love of her life, Roderick “Rick” L. Kendrick of Alva, Oklahoma. The couple began their life together in Ponca City before settling in Edmond, Oklahoma, in 1977, with a brief residence in Ada from 1981 to 1985. Edmond remained their cherished home for nearly five decades.
Dani’s career as an elementary school teacher spanned several communities, including Seminole, Del City, Ponca City, Edmond, Deer Creek, and Oklahoma Christian Schools in Edmond. Teaching was not just her profession but her calling. Dani poured her heart and soul into her work, forming lifelong connections with her students and their families. After retiring in 1998, she devoted her time to nurturing her own family, tending her garden, and enjoying the companionship of her golden doodle, Gracie.
A woman of deep faith, Dani treasured her weekly Bible study at the Memorial Road Church of Christ, where she was an active participant in the ministry, Center for Women’s Bible Study. Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she was quick to give thanks to God for His many blessings.
Dani found immense joy in her role as “GranDan” to her grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them. She and Rick also enjoyed traveling to visit family across the country, though Dani’s favorite place remained her home, where she could bask in the beauty of her garden and the glow of countless full moons from her beloved back porch.
Dani is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Rick, and their three children:
- Dani “Dan Ann” Deann Mills of Cashion, Oklahoma, and granddaughter Kylee Paige Sanders of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
- Lynnsey Caroline McFarland and her husband, Daniel, of San Juan Capistrano, California, and grandchildren Malone Rose McFarland and Eli Mason McFarland.
- Roderick “Ricky” Lynn Kendrick Jr., a travel nurse.
Dani’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Rick–Fond memories of precious Dani. I enjoyed being around Dani and hearing her talk about her loving family. So many loved her because she was lovable. I wish I had seen/visited with her more recently than last March. May you be comforted by all those who loved Dani and know that you will see her again in the hereafter.
Rick & family:
The many friends at the Edmond Church are just in shock and sadness over the passing of our dear friend, Dani. There are so many, many memories of all of you worshipping and sharing with us. There is nothing we can say that is of much comfort and we will pray for you and your immediate and extended family for God’s comfort. I can only say I know your immense pain and loss. Stay close to God.
Love you,
Lyle

Dani was one of the greatest blessings in my life. As a young woman, she helped guide me through life, loss and helped me become a gentler, kinder version of myself. Dani’s Love of people & her Faith was a light that shone through the fogs of life. God bless her family- Rick, Dan Ann Lindsey & Ricky. You have all been blessed & in turn blessings to others.
Best Regards,
Amy Hazzard
Dear Rick and family… we know nothing can take away your sadness, but we hope the warmth of your memories and the concern of those who care so much about you and your family will bring you comfort during these difficult days. Dani is very special, loved, and will not be forgotten. You and your family are in our prayers. We love you.

From the first day we arrived in Edmond, following 40+ years in SE Oklahoma, we were blessed by Dani and Rick. Dani’s smile words of encouragement, and beautiful Christian spirit were, and continued to be, such a strong example to our lives. Though over time our life interactions became less frequent. Each encounter immediately resumed as if virtually no time had passed. Our sadness is, perhaps, selfish wishing she was still here. It is surpassed by a confident belief we will see each other again – as if no time has passed. To the family, we have and continue to lift you all in our petitions to our God. We love you. Trot &Vic
It’s been so long I scarcely remember but I babysat for Dani (Dan Ann) when I was in High School. I’m so sorry to find out that she has passed. She was a lovely lady in every way. I’m so sorry the family is having to deal with this grief.
Rick-Richard was searching for a friend’s obit on here when he saw our precious Dani’s picture. We are in shock-we did not know or would have been with you and the kids to celebrate her life. Dani was like a big sister to me when we both lived in Seminole. I remember her loaning me a sweater for a date I had planned when I was in HS. Then when we all lived in Edmond-I remember going to church when Justin was a few months old and Dani holding him in worship and helping me as a new mom and new wife. When we all lived Ada-I have so many fond memories-including her sharing her 10 ingredient spaghetti sauce recipe with me! I could go on and on. I’ve missed her these latter years so very much.
Please give our love to Sherry, Bill and your kiddos.
Our deepest condolences to you-her true love.
