What a life! Surrounded by her family, on November 21, 2015, Dana Celeste (Greene) Holden passed from this life to the next. Dana was born Au
gust 15th, 1969 in Sayre, Oklahoma to her loving and devoted parents Perry and Barbara Greene who instilled wonderful values and qualities that we all saw in her.

So many words come to mind to describe Dana and how she has impacted so many in this world. Her middle name means heavenly, and heaven-sent she was. Always loving, mothering, made extra efforts to make everything nice and special for those around her, direct, honest, fun-loving, generous, caring, thoughtful, compassionate, genuine, strong, determined, always valued people, had one of the strongest work ethics of all time, cherished time with her friends and family, stood up for her beliefs and loved the Lord.

What a beautiful woman! She grew up in central Oklahoma, and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, which is where she met her husband Stanley Keith Holden. They were married on January 28, 1995 on a beautiful and blustery day in Elk City, Oklahoma. They shared 21 years of love and adventure, loving their daughter and sharing the dance. Dana and Stan’s lives were changed forever with the blessing and birth of their daughter, Halle Celeste Holden on December 22, 1999. Dana was proud to be her Mom and knew Halle was the best accomplishment of her life. They had a bond like best friends but a love like only a mother and daughter can share. Their family has resided in Edmond for 14 years, traveling, sharing and enjoying living life to the fullest.

Dana is preceded in death by her grandparents, W.C. and Barbara Greene and Gordon and Edith Boydston. She is survived by her loving husband Stanley Holden, her precious daughter Halle Holden, her devoted parents, Perry and Barbara Greene, and her mother and father-in-law Harvey and Shirley Holden, her sisters Amy Malin, Shelly Mathews, and Kasey Hodge, sister-in-law Stacey Holden, her brothers-in-law Dave Malin and Donnie Hodge, her nieces Shelby Merwin, Ragen Hodge, her nephews, Jacob Mathews, Robert Malin, and Holden Hodge.

We will all miss Dana until we see her again in heaven. We are comforted by Jesus’ words in John 14:1-4 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.  My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Visitation will be held at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly in Edmond, OK on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, OK, Rev. Wendy Lambert officiating. Interment will follow at 3pm at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, OK.

The family appreciates the outpouring of love, support, prayers and encouragement more than words can express. They ask that in lieu of flowers, any memorials be made to either the Oklahoma Zoological Society, or to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

What a gift Dana’s life has been to us all!

  1. Stan and Family –

I had the honor of working with Dana for the better part of the last decade at T-Mobile. Dana was a caring and thoughtful leader to hundreds if not thousands of our employees over the last two decades in Oklahoma. Everyone who came into contact with Dana was better for it. She was an incredible colleague of ours that we will forever treasure.

But beyond that, Dana was our dear friend. We all loved her. We would do anything for her because of who she was, and what she meant to all of us. All of us at T-Mobile are incredibly saddened by her passing. Our Company will never be the same without her.

Thank you for allowing us to experience the blessing of Dana. And she was a blessing indeed that we will always remember and always honor. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this most difficult time. Our T-Mobile family stands by to do anything and everything for our extended family — the Holden family.
