Cora “Sue” Wallace passed away at the age of 76 on July 28th, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on October 24th, 1939 in Oklahoma City, and was the sixth of seven children born to Nick and Eva Dell (Howell) Wallace. Sue graduated from high school in 1956 from Jones, Oklahoma, and held several jobs throughout the years primarily as a book keeper and customer service representative. She had a strong faith in the Lord, was blessed with many friends, enjoyed traveling, and spending time with both her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sue dearly loved entertaining and it didn’t matter whether it was a group of her children’s friends, her co-workers, holidays or just family gatherings. In the weeks just before her death, she helped organize an extended family reunion at her childhood hometown. Holidays may have been her favorite time with family gatherings and her tradition of “Dirty Santa” to be played late on Christmas Eve. Whether dancing, listening to Willie Nelson music, cooking way too much food, or making her daily phone calls to her brothers, she was a joy to behold.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Eva Dell Wallace, her husband Boyd McNutt, her brothers Nicky Wallace, Glen Wallace, James Wallace, and her sister-in-law Florene Wallace. She is survived by her ex-husband Lannie Weiss, brothers Donald Wallace and his wife Dess, John Wallace and his wife Wanda, Bob Wallace and his wife Mary, and her sister-in-law Deloris Wallace. She is also survived by her children; Cathy Raymond, Paul McNutt and his wife Donna, Kelly McNutt, Jason Weiss, step son David Weiss and his wife Linda, her grandchildren Bridget Lowes, Megan Lowes, Kevin McNutt, Katie Odom and Laura McNutt, and her great grandchildren Jackson Adkins, Kirah Sheridan and Nolen Marshall.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 2nd in Edmond, Oklahoma at Matthews Funeral Home, with internment to follow at the Jones IOOF Cemetery in Jones, Oklahoma.

Cora Sue was my best friend in 6th ,or 7th grade inJones. I only lived there for one year. I never forgot her. She would let me go with her on her paper routes. I do wish I had known how to locate her sooner. I sincerely wish to express my sympathy to her entire family. Also, I have a painting of Sue on silk that an uncle who was stationed in Japan had done and one of me. It was a school picture. I would be happy to send it to any of her children that would like to have it. My name is Patricia Martin. (It was Patsy Knecht then). I live in Sioux City, Iowa.
