Colita Mae Parsons Thompson-Bond passed away on April 30th, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 89. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone that knew her. Colita was predeceased by her parents August Haskell Parsons and Ora Mae Parsons. She was born and raised in Shawnee Oklahoma along with her siblings David and Charlotte. She graduated from Shawnee high school in 1951.  Colita married Hollis Thompson in 1952. Soon after marriage Hollis departed to the Korean War for several years. While Colita awaited her husband’s return, she worked at Southwestern Bell as a switch board operator alongside her sister Charlotte. In 1957 Colita and Hollis were blessed with their first child Tim followed in years to come by Steven, Chris, and Holly respectively. Colita was truly a mother of love. While raising her children she worked with Hollis as the administrative assistant at the Thompson Accounting Firm.

Colita was a member of the Memorial Road Church of Christ for many years. Colita enjoyed spending her latter years at the Edmond Senior Center where she served on the Board of Directors. While there, she met her loving Elbert. Elbert and Colita sang in the senior choir together. Soon they were married at the young ages of Eighty-Two and Eighty-Five.

Colita had the biggest heart for everyone no matter how well she knew you. She loved unconditionally and she showed it. Knowing Colita was knowing a tenderness and kindness that was extraordinary and was a once in a lifetime experience. She was patient. She did not judge. She was love. She was a Godly woman and God worked through her in powerful ways.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37

This is how Colita lived her life. Colita was love and her legacy of kindness lives on through the blessings she gave to all that knew her.

Colita is survived by her husband Elbert C. Bond, her son Tim and his wife Lisa, her sons Steven, and Chris, her daughter Holly and her husband David, her siblings Charlotte Rowe and David Parsons.
