Cleola Mullins Beardsley went to her heavenly reward after a long and productive life on November 5, 2013. Born on June 16, 1921 in Rocky, Oklahoma to Claude and Ethel Mullins and raised on a farm in Burns Flat, Oklahoma, she was the surviving member of a family of five children.
She received a B.S. degree in education from Southwestern State College in Weatherford and used it to educate many students in Burns Flat and Western Oaks Elementary School in Putnam City ISD.
She married John Beardsley on July 5, 1943. From that union they had three children: Linda Hall (Jim), Rolly Beardsley, and Jeff Beardsley (Karrie). She is survived by her children, grandchildren, sister in law, Wanda Mullins, brother in law, George Beardsley and many nieces and nephews. Her six grandchildren were the light of her life and then she was blessed to hold and love three great grandchildren. She resided in Edmond, Oklahoma at the time of her death having previously lived in Oklahoma City, Burns Flat, and Dallas, Texas.
She was a life long member of the Church of Christ where she shared her gift of teaching to many young children.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, one sister, Irma, three brothers, Glenn, Dale, and Jack Mullins.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, November 10th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to SEARCH, PO Box 371, Edmond, OK 73083.
Services are Monday 11/11/13 at 10:00am at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Edmond, Oklahoma.
