Christine Maria Cannon
Oct.21, 1934—Nov. 22, 2023
Christine Maria Cannon, 89, went to sleep in Jesus on November 22, 2023. In 1954 – 1955, you could find Chris playing third base on the softball field, along with her two sisters, Martha, and Mary. In 1956, her team, “Our Lady of the Valley”, won the state tournament. She continued to love and play softball well into her 60s!
Chris was a hard-working woman, who always put her family first. In 1975, she married Henry “Hank” Cannon, the love of her life, not only was he the best husband, but also the best stepfather to her children. Chris and Hank joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church on March 19, 1988, where they were active members and beloved by many. Chris’s pride and joy were her grandkids. She was at every birthday party, church program, and school event.
Chris worked at Copper Lake Retirement Home as the Assistant Activities Director for over 15 years. After taking a few years off, she worked at Bradford Village, where she continued doing what she loved, helping others.
Chris was generous, kind, loving, and was the first person to help others. She spent most of her time with her family, watching movies, shopping, playing games, and traveling, her favorite games were Rummikub and Skip-Bo. Chris always knew how to make people laugh with her infectious personality.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cannon, her son, Tim Thomas, and her parents, Andras and Elisa Lucero.
Chris is survived by two sons, Ron Thomas and wife, Rosa, Ken Thomas, and one daughter, Pam Wilson and husband, Doug, her siblings; Dora Reed, Andras “junior” Lucero and wife, Lucy, Mary Gally, Martha Weaver, and Theresa Parrish, and her four grandchildren; Brooke Wilson, Brittney Wilson, Bethany Faulkner and husband, Adam, and Levi Thomas.
To know Chris was to love her. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond, OK 73003.

My deepest sympathies go out to you and your entire extended family, Pam. Fortunately, we do not sorrow as others do because we know that resurrection morning is coming! Let’s all just keep on keeping on the path that leads to heaven, where we will all rejoice together–and for an eternity at that!
