1975 – 2025
Christa Rochelle Hensley, 50, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 19, 1975, in Oklahoma City, OK, Christa was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and follower of Christ, whose warmth and kindness touched countless lives.
Christa grew up in Harrah, OK, where she developed a love for competition. This spirit drove her to become an All-State softball player, and, according to her, should have earned her this honor in basketball as well. She graduated from Harrah High School in 1993, and went on to graduate from Oklahoma State, with a BS in Biology, in 1997. She became an 8th and 9th grade Biology teacher before becoming a devoted stay at home mother, which she stated was her most beloved job. She later went back to school and graduated from Oklahoma City University in 2013 with her Juris Doctorate, going on to work in criminal and employment law.
In May of 2022, Christa was diagnosed with stage 4 metastasized breast cancer. This news rocked her friends and family to the core. While Christa was undoubtably shaken as well, she attacked her diagnosis with joy and with that same fervent, competitive spirit that was so typical of her. In lieu of chemotherapy, she made it her mission to tackle her cancer head on with holistic healing. From making her own shampoo and conditioner, to only eating raw, organic foods, she transformed her life into one of natural health and wellness. Not only did her battle change her outlook on health, it gave her a renewed passion for her savior, Jesus Christ. We were granted three healthy, happy years filled with love and laughter in the living room that served as “home base” for her children before she was called to her Heavenly Home.
Christa is survived by her beloved husband of 8 years, Jason Hensley; their children, Jake Uhland and his fiancé Milissa Cagle, Lauren Wind and her husband Dane Wind, Olivia Uhland, Cruz Uhland, and Kasyn Hensley; Her Mother and Stepfather Beverly and Tony Cagle; Her Mother-in-Law Janis Hodges; Her Brother and Sister-in-law Randall and Lynelle Murray, and their children, Colton, Maddy, Justin and his wife Alicia, and Gavin Murray. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Murray.
Christa was passionate about learning, crocheting, painting, home renovations, her boxer puppies, her plants, thrifting, bible study, her Oklahoma State Cowboys, spending time with her friends, and most importantly spending time with her children and family. She was a member of City Church Moore and a BSF leader. She cherished family gatherings, playing competitive games, and going on adventures big and small with those she loved.
Her light will forever shine in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00am, Saturday, May 3, 2025 at City Church, Moore, Oklahoma.
The family request that everyone attending the service wear bright colors in honor of Christa.
