Passing of an industry icon.
Today I learnt the passing of one of my first customer, employee and great friend. United in our sorrow and our love for a remarkable man, Charles Waggoner. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life—a life dedicated to excellence, integrity, and service.
Charles was a pioneer in the spray foam contracting industry in Oklahoma. I had the privilege of knowing him as one of my first contractors in this field, and from the very beginning, his passion and commitment to quality were evident. He was not just a contractor; he was a trailblazer who helped shape the industry and set standards that many would strive to meet.
After years of hard work and dedication in the contracting business, Charles took a bold step and sold his company to join Demilec USA. Here, he became an invaluable member of the Building Science and Codes department. His expertise and deep understanding of spray foam products were instrumental in securing certifications and approvals that would ensure their safe and effective use in construction. As a technical writer in the US Air Force, he honed his skills, using them to advocate for our SPF products with unwavering dedication.
Charles was more than just a talented professional; he was a teammate and a friend. He was known for his well-spirited demeanor and his willingness to lend a hand. His guidance and technical excellence were a source of inspiration to many. In the halls of Demilec USA and Ambit, he was part of the renowned Winning Team, a team that thrived not just because of individual talent but because of the camaraderie and spirit that Charles helped foster.
To Nancy, his beloved wife, and to his granddaughter and the entire Waggoner family, we extend our deepest condolences. Your husband, father, and grandfather was a man who left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him.
As we remember Charles, let us carry forward his legacy of hard work, kindness, and commitment to excellence. Let us honor him by supporting one another, just as he would have done.
Rest in peace, Charles Waggoner. You will be missed, but your impact on our lives and our industry will never be forgotten.

I am very sorry to hear of Charles’ passing. I met Charles in Chile on our trip to Antarctica in January 2022. We were at the same table for the entire cruise as this was nearing the end of the Covid pandemic and the ship was divided into two groups to reduce the exposure of those of us on the trip. We both did the polar plunge there. We shared our love for photography. Charles and I became friends on that trip and exchanged emails several times since then. He was the oldest person on the trip and I was number #2….a year younger. I enjoyed our short time together. May he rest in peace.
Thank you, Ron. I remember Charles speaking of you when he got home and when we were reviewing his photographs. I was so proud of him for taking that polar plunge and not the least bit surprised. Charles was always ready for an adventure and had so many in his lifetime.
Nancy, I am sorry to hear about Charles. Did not hear of his passing until this morning at Buck And A Bible. Charles was one of the most talented people I have ever met. Working with him on projects at church was always a special time. Will have you in prayers during this difficult time.
