Catharine Meier Ross
1927-2018
Catharine Meier Ross was born October 20, 1927 to George and Magdelena Meier in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1945. She met and married Alvin Ross on August 8, 1951. They lived in Wichita, Kansas for 38 years. After they both retired, they moved to Grove, Oklahoma and lived there for 4 years.
After the death of her husband, she moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to be close to her brother and family.
She joined the Edmond Senior Center, her home away from home.
While in Wichita, she worked and Farmers and Bankers Life Insurance Company for 13.5 years. From there she went to Kansas Gas & Electric Company for 20 years.
Her hobbies were gardening, embroidering, and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, William and Charles Meier; and one sister-in-law.
She is survived by a few family members and lots of friends.
Services will be held at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, on Monday August 6th, at 11:00 AM, with Father Ackerman officiating. Burial will follow at Kingfisher Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart Association or her church.
