Parks, carolynCarolyn Frazier Parks was born in Ft. Smith AR on May 7th, 1942. She grew up in Waldron, AR. She moved to Edmond, OK, where she met and married J.H. Parks in 1973. They were married for 43 years until her death.

She worked in retail most of her life. Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother with a strong Christian faith that she passed on to her family. She loved to shop and collect knick-knacks.

She found pleasure in displaying pictures and telling stories about all of her grand & great grandchildren. She & J enjoyed traveling and went to every relative’s high school graduation across the country. There was no one that loved the holidays more than Carolyn! She was like a kid in a candy store with all the decorating and gift giving that she enjoyed so much, especially Christmas!

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; Kenneth and Charlene Frazier. She is survived by her husband, J. H. Parks; children, Lavonda James of Edmond; Darrell James & wife Lyn & children Connor, Carson, Cameron & Caity of Edmond; Steve James & wife Angie & children Jenny & McKenzie of Okla City; John Derrick Ward of Edmond;  Preston Parks & wife Charmin & children Brandon, Greg, Patrick,Taylor & Dale of MD; Clifton Parks & wife Kim & children Scott, Kyle, Chad,Zack & Amy of Ft. Smith, AR; Grandson Scott Frazier & wife Jennifer & daughter Ashley of Okla City; Siblings: Kenny Frazier & wife Janice, Bobby Don Frazier & wife Joyce, Vylinda Dauphin & husband Monte, Joe Frazier and Terri, and many great grandchildren and friends.

Viewing will be at Matthews Funeral Home Thurs 3:00 till 8:00 PM. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 6th at the Matthews Chapel, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK.
