Carolyn Anne Hamel

Carolyn Anne Hamel, 48, of Edmond, OK passed away September 26, 2016. Carolyn was born December 5, 1967 to Douglas and Yvonne Stuart in Fitchburg, MA. Carolyn worked as an elementary school teacher for Edmond Public Schools at Will Rogers and Centennial Elementary Schools in Edmond OK. She enjoyed her career as an educator and loved working with her students. When she wasn't teaching, Carolyn expressed a deep passion for home gardening and could often be found on weekends tending to her assortment of plants, flowers, and herbs. She also enjoyed wine tasting with friends and more recently, spending time with a newfound interest in her life, her grandson Logan.
She is survived by her mother: Yvonne Stuart of Hemet CA. children: Laura and Adam Hamel, both of Edmond, OK, siblings: sister, Cindy Palinkas of Walterboro SC, brother, Keith Stuart of Orrington ME, and sister, Rebecca Major of Edmond, OK, (1) grandchild: Logan Ward, and 14 nieces and nephews.
Family will be greeting guest from 2pm-4pm on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Matthews Funeral Home with a memorial service to be held at 4 pm Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel.
