Carol Ann Anderson, 77, of Edmond, Oklahoma, departed our world for a better place after a brief illness.
Born to Calvin and Marie Johnson on June 24, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri, Carol spent her earliest years there. She moved to El Reno in 1941, and grew into a beautiful woman as she completed her education and graduated from El Reno High School in 1955.
Carol started her career as an executive assistant in the insurance business soon after completing school. And after various relationships, she met the love of her life, Jerry Anderson, and they wed on June 2, 1966, and moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to raise their family.
With Jerry’s unconditional love and help, Carol raised four children, who, while at times giving her and Jerry fits, grew to be productive contributors to both their families and the communities where they live.
Carol loved to travel with Jerry, her children and grandchildren and greatly enjoyed visits she made to places as far away as Alaska, Jackson Hole Wyoming, Colorado and others. She also cherished and loved the family’s numerous pets and had many favorites, including her Schnauzers, Blaze and Smokey.
She also recently enjoyed spending time at some of Oklahoma’s tourist destinations, especially Lake Eufaula, where she and Jerry spent many wonderful times together. We look forward to helping her make one final journey there later this year, where we will help her complete her circle of life.
Changes in our world always bring something new, and while we will miss Carol, we rejoice she’s moved on to a better place and know we will see her again one day.
Carol was proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Donald and sister-in-law Frances; her husband Jerry; a son, Larry, and daughter-in-law Vicki; a son, Jack Money, and daughter-in-law Salynn; a daughter, Brenda Kohn, and son-in-law Steve; and a son, Joe, and daughter-in-law Annie. She also is survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services for Carol are 2 p.m. Friday at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S Kelly, in Edmond. Memorials remembering Carol, made to Free to Live of Edmond, would be appreciated.

Anderson family,
I am so sorry to her about Carol. I know my family enjoyed spending the summer at the lake with her and Jerry. She will be missed.
Prayers!!!

Lord, at the moment nothing seems to be able to help the loss I feel.
My heart is broken and my spirit mourns.
All I know is that Your grace is sufficient.
This day, this hour
Moment by moment
I choose to lean on You,
For when I am at my weakest Your strength is strongest.
I pour out my grief to You
And praise You that on one glorious day
When all suffering is extinguished and love has conquered
We shall walk together again.
