1919-2017
BUSTER TROY COBB went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2017. He was born on June 18, 1919, in a farm house between Minco and Pocasset in Grady County, Oklahoma, to William Milos and Nettie Jane (Clemmons) Cobb.
He attended school through the 8th Grade, worked on the family farm then joined the Army Air Corp during WWII, serving four years in the military police. He and Bertha Jo Guthery were married on March 16, 1944 in Oklahoma City where they raised their family. He retired after 31 years from Fleming Foods.
Buster was proceeded in death by his wife; his parents; brothers: Ernest and Billie Ray; and sisters: infant Evelyn Murline, Bernice Eisenman, Ruby Eisenman and Sybil Rockwell.
Buster was known as Dad, Daddy, Popie, Grandpa and Uncle and as a friend to all who met him. He was a kind and fun-loving person, dearly loved by his family. He wanted to make it to 100 and almost did. The family and friends he left behind are all grateful to have had him in their lives, and all have their own personal recollections of him, as he made everyone feel special.
He is survived by his children: Troy and wife Nancy Cobb; Janette and husband Mark Ison; grandchildren: Amberlea Ison Cardwell and her children: Keagan, Kearigan and Kaelin; Jason & Jill Cobb and their daughters Jamie and Jacey; Jennifer (Cobb) and Charles VanGilder and their children: Krystin, Addie and Ian; Adam and Lindsay Ison and daughters, Meghan and Kensi; and Christopher and Ashley Ison and son Camden and soon-to-be born son; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:00 a..m. March 30, 2017 at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma and graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Minco, Oklahoma.
