Buddy Mayes was born January 9th, 1929 in Deer Creek, OK to Esther and William Mayes. He lived a full life as a farmer, truck driver, and Jack Dorman Chevrolet outstanding salesman from 1961 to 1967. He successfully built several businesses for over 40 years in the used car, rental equipment, pawnshop and commercial rentals in Nicoma Park. He enjoyed nature, playing dominoes, watching classic westerns and “storytelling” with his coffee buddies at Braum’s.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents and six sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby (Waller); brother Donald Mayes and wife Billie; three children Steve Mayes, Annette McKeever and husband Tim, Janet Shough and husband Richard; and six grandchildren Heather Mayes, Andrew McKeever and wife Rachel, Caleb Shough, Kaci Shough, April Dryden and husband Jared, and Cameron Shough.
Visitation will be 8:30am to 10:00am Friday, March 4th, at Matthews Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 Friday, March 4th, at Matthews Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the local Alzheimer’s Association or Edmond Church of Christ
