Bryan T. Darks
The life of Bryan T. Darks will be celebrated at a funeral service Saturday, June 22, at 10:00 am at Matthew’s Funeral Home in Edmond, OK. He was born in Phoenix, AZ on June 2, 1974 and passed from this life on June 15, 2019. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jennie Montoya Darks. Bryan’s family is from Na-Neezhiin-Torréon, NM. His mom was a P.A., one out of one hundred girls who received a scholarship to the reservation. Bryan grew up on the reservation until his mom’s death at age 12. Bryan’s Papa, Marvin Puckett, taught English on the reservation. Bryan’s Navajo roots go as far back to the Long Walk in 1864. From the time he was a little boy he was full of life. He loved nature, sports, hunting and fishing. Bryan met the love of his life, Kristin Griffith, and they were married September 2, 2017. Bryan was licensed for heat and air. He was responsible for a lot of work which also included his family and friends. Bryan was a huge Sooner fan as well as a Thunder fan. He loved most being a husband, a son, a brother and an uncle. And to his nieces and nephews, Tayah, Jennie Jo, and Dycen Darks, he was known as “BB”. His fond memories would be travelling to California to visit his sister, Tanya or to Texas to visit his Dad and Lori. He loved hunting trips with his brother, Troy. He also made some visits back to the reservation where they once dressed Kristin as a Navajo bride. His latest adventures were gathering with friends at the Thunder Road House Café. Bryan has lots of extended family, too many to name. Lots of memories of Uncle Wayne, Aunt Ruby, Auntie Anita, Grandpa Tom and numerous cousins who poured into his life.
Bryan was preceded in death by his mom, Jennie Montoya Darks, Jo (Nannie) Puckett, Marvin (Papa) Puckett, Herman (Red) Darks (Grandpa).
Survivors include his wife, Kristin Darks of Edmond, OK, his Dad, Don and Lori Darks of Weatherford, TX, sister, Tanya Boucher and Stephen Sherman of San Diego, CA, brother, Troy and wife Rachel Darks of Edmond, OK (Tayah, Jennie Jo, and Dycen), brother, Ryan and wife Jennifer Darks of Lake Saint Louis, MO (Alyson, Lauren, and Kaylee), sister, Sarah Dunning of Edmond, OK (Isaiah and Jada), brother, Randy and wife Jennifer Dunning of Norman, OK, father-in-law, Kris and mother-in-law, Nancy of Norman, OK, brothers-in-law, Kyle and wife Sarah Griffith of Edmond, OK, Kreg and wife Libby Griffith of Washington, OK, sister-in-law, Kimberly Griffith of Norman, OK, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, and many loving friends.
Burial will follow in Anadarko’s Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Matthew’s Funeral Home.

Kristin -I remember when you first told me about meeting Bryan and how excited you were. What an amazing person he was. God brought you two together and I know how very blessed you both felt. My heart breaks for you and all I can say is Trust that God will embrace you and hold you close through all of this.
