1968-2017

Marcus “Brent” Wiederstein, 48, the son of Allen and Jeanette (Bryan) Wiederstein passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017.

Brent grew up in Enid and Edmond, OK and graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1987. In the fall of 1987, Brent attended Oklahoma Christian University where he met the love of his life, Debbie (Shotts) Wiederstein. Brent and Debbie began their life together June 30, 1990.  The majority of Brent’s career was in sales with HD Supply as a Regional Sales Director.

Brent was a devoted husband of 27 years and a loving father of two. He enjoyed listening to music, watching any WWII documentary, and entertaining and grilling for his family. He took great pleasure in spending time outdoors – hunting with Ryan and Devan. Brent was always welcoming and warm and he wanted family and friends around. He loved the 4th of July and threw many epic 4th of July parties.

Brent was a life-long Christian and attended Edmond church of Christ along with his family. Brent and Debbie always taught children’s classes at church. He was so good with kids and making them feel special, treating his classes to donuts and his nieces, nephews and neighbors with root beers and ice cream.

Brent is preceded in death by his sister, April Wiederstein, his grandparents George Bryan, Allen and Vivian Wiederstein, and his aunt Linda Bryan. He is survived by his wife Debbie, son Ryan and daughter Devan, his parents Allen and Jeanette, brother Heath and wife Tiffany and their children Ian and Brody and April’s sons Hunter and Clay as well as Clara Mae “Grandma” Bryan and numerous Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.

A public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Matthews Funeral Home.  A celebration of Brent’s life and legacy will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Edmond church of Christ in Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the local DAV, Lariat Creek Christian Camp, and Search Ministries.

My memories of Brent will always be his giving smile and hearty laugh, his rendition of “Grandma got ran over by a reindeer” at the Westwood Christmas party, and always seeing him at the church assembly in the “good old days” when we were all young and just starting our families. We are so saddened by his passing. God Bless the Wiederstein Family.

  3. I am so saddened by the passing of my mentor and friend. Knowing and working with Brent for almost 20 years was something special and I’m very thankful our paths crossed back in 1998. Thank you for everything over the years and all you’ve done for me and my family. You will be missed. May God bless you and the Wiederstein family and ease the pain of this loss.

Jennette ,Alan, Heath and Debbie. I can not possibly know the pain you are going through. If we who love you could carry some of the pain for you I know we would. But we weren’t made that way. We bare our own losses. Brent had so many people who loved him and with his family he was truly blessed. I wish I had words to say that would bring you great comfort or something I could do to help you. I believe strongly in prayer and I know you do too. So I offer my prayers and the prayers of many of my friends on yours and Brent’s behalf. My prayer is that you be comforted as only Jesus can comfort and that you find peace and joy at the end of this journey.

I was so shocked and saddened when I read in the paper this morning about the loss of your precious Brent.
I have been praying the entire day for all of you. Tom and I lost our son, Mark, 5 years ago this month. We do know what it is to have a son taken from us and it isn’t supposed to be that way. The parents are supposed to go first. However, the Lord has his way and we know his way is best. We will never understand it until we get to heaven. I dread the day of having the loss of a mate – Debbie, I love you so much and I am hurting so deeply for you. I will continue praying for you and your sweet family and pray that Jesus will give you peace beyond all understanding.
Our Love and Prayers to all of you,
    Joyce and Tom Alsip

  9. Brent it’s been a privilege to share this time with you, to get to know you personally and professionally. I thank you for the opportunities and support that you have allowed me in my career. I will always remember and cherish the conversations we had of our families.
May the Lord bless you keep you as you enter the heavenly gates to be with family and friends who have gone before you. I know that you are a Guardian Angel as you continue to watch over and protect your family. May the peace of God be with you and your family always.
