Her favorite quote reflected her adventurous spirit, “Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and proclaiming, ‘WOW, WHAT A RIDE!!!'”  That is pretty much how she did it too!

During her professional career, Brenda was the owner of McKibbin’s Tea Room and Catering Service, AshBrooke Design, and for a brief period Brenda’s Nail Salon then finally, due to her health, retiring to enjoy life at home. She was a dedicated entrepreneur who excelled in her various ventures. Brenda’s passion for creativity and hospitality shone through her businesses.

A graduate of Cashion High School and as well as studying at the University of Central Oklahoma, Brenda valued education and lifelong learning. She could not start her day without reading her “Jesus Calling” and reading scriptures.  She worshipped at Edmond Church of Christ, Quail Springs Church of Christ, Life Church when circumstances required to worship online.

Toughness comes from being challenged by the opponent. Brenda proved toughness throughout her battle with cancer. She’ll be remembered and respected not by toughness, but by being a loving Mom, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Brenda, you’ll be missed. Lots of love. See you on the other side. Rest in Peace.

We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Brenda. She was an inspiration to so many and always had a smile and a kind word for all of us when we had the opportunity to be in her presence. It was always a pleasure to be around her. She truly will be missed and never forgotten!
