Bonita “Bonnie” Marie Morris

1938-2023
Bonita Marie (Christianson) Morris passed away September 14, 2023 in Edmond, Oklahoma, after a long illness. Bonnie was born September 25 1938 to Linwood C. and Myrtle B. (Hanson) Christianson in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
She grew up in Albert Lea, and graduated from Albert Lea High School. She studied Business at Lea College and the University of Central Oklahoma. Bonnie spent her career in the banking and financial business for 60+ years. She worked for Freeborn National Bank, Sirloin Stockade Corporate Offices, FAA Credit Union as well as Local Oklahoma Bank.
In August of 1976 she loaded 4 children, one only 5 months old, 1 dog, a house cat, 4 horses and made the 700 mile move to Oklahoma. She and Dave were married August 13, 1976. Bonnie loved horses, and she was a longtime member of the Pony Of The Americas Club. She enjoyed showing and traveling all over the country to horse shows with her children and grandchildren. You might even say she kept Michelin Tires in business! She made many lifelong friends, coast to coast, showing her beloved POAs and she loved them all dearly, she was everyone’s Grandma Bonnie. In 2008, Bonnie was inducted into the Pony Of The Americas Hall Of Fame and spent many hours volunteering for this Youth Organization. Bonnie also volunteered her time with the Deer Creek Fire Department, serving on the Board Of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer for 19 years.
Bonnie is survived by her children and grandchildren; daughter Susie (Crane)and Robert Hampton, Oklahoma (Shane and Colin); sons, Chris and Sherri Crane, Oklahoma (Kyle, Cody and Wes); Rich and DeAnn Crane, Oklahoma (Brittany); Tom and Angela Morris, Kentucky (Lizzie and Abbie); Kevin and Teresa Morris, Minnesota (Samantha, Jill and Clay); Michelle Morris, Texas (Tiffany and Jackie); Jodi (Morris) and David Phillips,Texas (Taryn, Sean and Jordan); Keith Morris , Texas. She is also survived by 22 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Dave Morris, her parents Linwood and Myrtle Christianson, and her daughter Elizabeth Ann Crane.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow the service at Whisler Cemetery.
Condolences to the family. Blessed be her memory. It has been many years gone by since I have seen you Cranes. My mom often talk about Bonnie, friends and horse fun they had as teens. Mom has shared some of your family photos with me. Last I saw Chris back in 1981, How the years roll by.
