Billy G. Ballard
Bill Ballard was born in Binger, Ok on April 17, 1938 to R.L. and Alta Ballard. As a child, he grew up in western Kansas and attended grade school at Red Rock and high school in Satanta, KS. He began working for Cities Service Gas Co. in 1958 at Greensburg, KS. He married Dreda Suddeth May 20, 1959, and they raised three children; Cindy, Staci, and Russ. He is survived by Dreda, his wife of 60 years, Cynthia and Gary Krause, Russell and Deanne Ballard, and Doug Poss. Staci Poss preceded him in death as well as his granddaughter, Maggie Marcellus. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Emily (Matt) Johnson, Matt (Lorena) Lott, Megan (David) Campbell, Hailey Macy, Cory Ballard, and Justin Marcellus, and ten great-grandchildren. Bill retired from Williams Natural Gas Sept. 1996. He and Dreda enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada for several years. They spent their winters in south Texas. Bill loved his family, fishing, bowling, and was an avid golfer. He is loved by his family and will be missed. A service will be held at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 5 at 10:00 A.M.

My brief encounters with Mr. Ballard were few and far between. But what do remember of him was that he enjoyed a good story, could tell a good story and was friendly to those he was around. My deepest sympathies go out to Dreda, Cynthia and Gary Krause, Russell and Deanne Ballard, Doug Poss and others who are missing their dear family member and friend. May God bless you with wonderful memories of him as you now adjust.
Nothing but the BEST memories of winters in TEXAS, Reunions in North USA and Canada, and trips into Mexico. Bill would come flying in that golf cart, overalls on, if anyone needed anything done. Fun times golfing, partying, and playing bocci ball. So glad I have great pictures of his smile and onery glint in his eyes. Cant imagine the loss for Dreda and family. Hugs and prayers for comfort.
