Beulah May DeShazer

1938 – 2020

Beulah May (Harms) DeShazer, died on June 8, 2020, in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 81. She was born on the family farm in Holly, Colorado to August and Rosie Harms on September 23, 1938. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) DeShazer and her parents, August and Rosie Harms. She is also Preceded in death by her siblings; Elmer Harms, Alvin Harms, Betty Jensen, Ed Harms, Violet Hazen, and Shirley Snider. She is survived by Albert Harms, Richard and Susan Harms, and Wilma and Jim Cannon. She has five Children Susan Bedell, John and Marcheta DeShazer, Sharon DeShazer, Joe and Lisa DeShazer, and William DeShazer. She has seven grandchildren, Danille Brittain, Brett and Jessica Brittain, Shawnna and Nathan Jones, Joshua and Jessica DeShazer, Trista Bedell, Charles Bedell, and Jessica Roper. She has eleven great grandchildren. She is survived by multiple nieces and nephews. Beulah was a daddy’s girl and was taught how to dance by her father and loved to dance even to the end with her great grandchildren. She was outgoing whistling at the boys for her friends. She met her husband while on a double date with another man and decided that Bill DeShazer was better suited to her. She always was the life of the party and great fun to be around. People thought it weird that her kids liked to go on vacation with her even in their 20’s-30’s. the vacations may not have cost a lot as it was camping in tents, even at Las Vegas but it kept her family close, even after she lost her husband at an early age, leaving her with five young children at home. She loved all her family and loved seeing her nieces and nephews whenever she could. Everywhere that she worked everyone loved her with some even calling her Queen B. she loved playing cards, doing puzzles, sewing, and reading. She will be missed but we know that she will be in Heaven playing cards and talking with her loved ones. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local animal shelter or the Alzheimer’s Association. Public visitation will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a celebration of her life Saturday June 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward, Oklahoma at 4:00.
