Betty Jean Rogers Harper

Betty Jean Rogers Harper

1936-2015Harper, Betty

Our beautiful, loving, and caring Mom left this world and was welcomed into Heaven on April 12, 2015, by her loving son Buddy, precious Mom, nephew Mark, whom she loved like a son, brother Gary, and cousin Mary Sue. She left behind her husband Jim, daughter Karen, son Rick, daughter-in-law Shannon, son Dennis, daughter-in-law Luann, grandchildren Cassie, Lance, Haley & Justin, Kyle & Michelle, Brad & Jamie, Dennis & Heather, Jimmy, Kelli & Jeremy, Thaddeous, niece Debbie, and 11 great-grandchildren. She also left behind her brother Mike, and sisters Pat & Barbara. Her three fur children, Honey Bun, Dolly, and Sugar, will miss her very much.

Our Mom loved riding motorcycles and going to the lake, but most of all she loved being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She never met a stranger, and her main topic of conversation was always her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she was proud of. After a 15 month battle with pancreatic cancer, her battle came to an end when God wrapped his arms around her and said, “No more pain.” We would like to thank Dr. Toubia from Mercy for being our Mom’s guardian angel on earth. We would also like to thank Edmond Fire Department Station 4 for being so kind and helpful to our Mom.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org to wage hope against this very mean cancer that took our precious Mom away too soon.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK.

Betty was one of the sweetest loveliest ladies I ever had to privilege to meet. Karen and Cassie represent Betty with their grace and beauty. I love you Betty! I love you Karen! I love you Cassie!

  2. Dear Aunt Betty….

No words to tell you how special you were to me when I was a young kid and stayed with you and Uncle Bud for the summer. I am truly sorry that I was such a “handfull”! I will always treasure my memories of my time with you! I am heartbroken that you are gone. With much love … Jim “Junior” Cook
