Betty Jean Hibbard

1928 – 2019

Betty Jean Hibbard was born on June 30, 1928 in Mangum Oklahoma to Lebanese immigrants Willie and Jamay Moses. She fell asleep in the Lord on April 11, 2019. Betty died at home and in her sleep as she always said she wanted to when it was her time.

As a young girl she moved to Oklahoma City to work in a downtown jewelry store as a bookkeeper and live with her great aunt. Before long she met and fell in love with a handsome Marine, Olen Ray Hibbard. They were married on June 6, 1948 and had three children.

Betty loved her role as wife, mother and keeper of the home. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years. She is survived by her three children, daughter Teresa Ann Weaver and husband Timothy of Oklahoma City, son Olen Ray Hibbard Jr and his wife Lisa of Oklahoma City and son David and his wife Gayle from Chico, Calif. She will also be missed by a host of grandchildren that she loved and cherished. Betty showed her love of her family through incredible Sunday dinners prepared with her loving hands.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 15th, at St. Elijah Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
