Betty Hemann
1942 – 2024
Betty ann Hemann, age 81, of Edmond, OK passed away on July 19th, 2024. Betty, who with her late twin brother, Barry, was born on September 9, 1942. The daughter of the late Leto and Thelma Essenpreis, she was reared on a fam near Grantfork. Illinois. She graduated from Highland High School and Eastern Illinois University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Social Sorority and an alumni award recipient. She was a teacher at Paxton, Illinois public schools. After rearing her two daughters, she was a histologist for nearly 20 years at hospitals in Lincoln, NE and Oklahoma City. Beloved wife of Bill for 59 years, proud mother of Lori (Charles) Crotteau of Chicago, Illinois and Cathy (Jeff) Bramlett of Kirkwood, Missouri. Loving and proud grandmother of Will, Emily, Beau, Molly and Natalie. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 22nd, 2024, at Matthews Funeral Home. She will be returning home to Highland, Illinois for the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Oklahoma, the American Cancer Society and the United Church of Christ, Grantfork, Illinois.
